Kenya accounts for 2.9 percent of the Covid-19 transmission rate

Mandera County, Wajir, Garissa and Marsabit counties still have one percent of the population vaccinated against COVID-19.

Nairobi County leads in the number of people vaccinated against the virus with 17.7 percent, followed by Nyeri which vaccinated 15.8 percent, Kiambu with 9.5 percent, Uasin Gishu 8.3 percent, Nyandarua 8.1 percent, Kisumu 7.4 percent, Muranga 7.3 and Mombasa 7.2 percent.

As of October 29, 2021, a total of 5,292,312 people had been vaccinated against Covid-19 across the country.

Of that number, 3,671,133 people were vaccinated in the first phase and 1,621,179 were fully vaccinated.
The prevalence rate of Covid-19 in the country is now 2.9% after more than 142 people were confirmed to have been infected with the virus after testing 4,950 samples in the past 24 hours.

Of that number, 137 people are Kenyan nationals and five are foreign nationals, of which 110 are men and 32 are women. The youngest victim is a one-year-old child and the oldest is 82 years old.

Bungoma County led with 58 cases, followed by Nairobi with 13 cases, Kericho and Uasin Gishu with 8 cases each, Wajir and Nyeri seven cases each with Garissa and Marsabit six cases each. 

Nakuru County 5, Mandera 4, Kajiado 3 and Embu, Isiolo, Mombasa, Murang'a and Baringo have two visas each. Trans Nzoia, Kiambu, Kilifi, West Pokot, Bomet, Busia and Elgeyo Marakwet registered one case in each county.

Meanwhile 144 more people have recovered from the virus, 133 from home care programs and 11 were allowed to leave various health facilities across the country.

However three more patients have died as a result of the Covid-19 severity in the country, all of which deaths were reported late after a review of health facility records in the months of September and October 2021.

A total of 463 patients have been admitted to various health facilities across the country while another 1,212 are being cared for at home.

Twenty-five patients are in intensive care, 13 of them are on a ventilator and 12 are receiving extra oxygen.
