The Defense Forces (KDF) has called on young people with a degree in the engineering industry to submit to the ongoing national exercise of enrollment.

Lieutenant Colonel Evans Oduma of the Air Force said that although there were vacancies for construction engineers, steamers among others with technical skills, recruiting officers did not find those with the skills in Malindi sub-counties and Magarini.

“There are opportunities that are reserved for those with technical degrees. There are degrees such as engineering and we have not found any engineers. We are asking young people with an engineering degree to come forward with this exercise, ”said Oduma at the Alaskan Stadium in Malindi.

Lieutenant Colonel Oduma said that despite the fact that there were no drug use cases in the Malindi exercise to register drug addicts, there was a need for young people to abstain from drug use and thus deprive them of the opportunity to join the security forces. and also risking their lives.

He called on the public to report to the police the fraudsters who are deceiving the people into being able to recruit youths in the KDF forces.

"I call on the people not to be deceived by swindlers around the country saying they can enlist young people in KDF forces," Oduma said.

During the Malindi recruitment exercise in the KDF, 444 youths showed up, 374 were men and 70 were women.
