Dennis Itumbi, a blogger, is requesting that unannounced interrogations by officials from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation be halted until he is stable.

Itumbi, who is recovering in a Nairobi hospital, claims he has been visited by DCI sleuths looking for 'undefined remarks.'

Itumbi claimed in a letter sent via his attorneys that the DCI should concentrate on locating the perpetrators of his kidnapping rather than'snooping' on his healing process.

"The abovementioned cops' and whomever despatched them's cruel, coldhearted, and vicious conduct against Mr. Itumbi demands highest censure," the attorneys said in the letter.

"Our client is a law-abiding person who has a right to recover without interruption, intrusion, or surveillance," says the attorney.

Itumbi was kidnapped as he walked out of a barbershop and tortured before being dumped in the Lakisama district of Kasarani, Nairobi.

He stated he suffered a fractured hand and minor injuries to his legs after being struck with a hammer.

Since then, numerous parties have played the blame game.

Deputy President William Ruto made the astonishing allegation that Itumbi, his Digital Strategist, was tortured by those who were supposed to be protecting him.

Ruto claimed he spent time with Itumbi in the hospital on Wednesday and came to the conclusion that his assailants meant to extinguish his spirit.

"Spent time yesterday evening (Tuesday) with Comrade DI (Dennis Itumbi), saw his extensively bandaged arm and legs, the consequence of torture by individuals who should have been there to protect him and us all."

"After all the bad narratives, threats, and blackmail against us failed," he continued, "they have now become violent and fatalistic."

He continued, Itumbi is robust and cheerful, despite doctors' predictions that he would be bedridden for a month.

"Like Dennis, we must all be strong in the knowledge that in a few months, we will beat impunity, entitlement, and kiburi na madharau (pride and disdain) and set our country free for good."

The remarks of the country's second-in-command were considered as powerful and revealing.

He seemed to be following the narrative of most UDA leaders, who blamed state agents for the tragedy on December 23.

On various instances, the outspoken writer has taken aim at key government leaders.

The DP's remarks provoked a barrage of online responses on his social media profiles.
