There are over 3,000 species of Snakes discovered in the world so far. Of these, only 600 are toxic.

Of the venomous snakes, only 200 or 7% are venomous.

Some snakes are found on land, but 70% of the species of snakes present are found in the water, especially in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific.
