| Police in Georgia's capital, Tbilisi, have fired hundreds of protesters against last week's election results. |
Thousands of people gathered outside the Electoral Commission building to demand a re-run of the voting process, accusing the ruling party of rigging the vote.
Georgia's Dream Party has denied allegations of fraud. International observers have said "the votes were cast in respect of independence" but criticized part of the process.
The Dream Party, founded by billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, was in power since 2012, received 48% of the vote in the October 31 election.
The victory gives the party the right to form the next government. But thousands of protesters in Tbilisi rejected the results and demanded the resignation of the police chief and commissioner.
The KINGA BOY POST.
