| Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed replaced his army chief on Sunday, with several soldiers reportedly wounded in a five-day conflict in the northern province of Tigray. |
The Nobel Peace Prize winner at the same time wanted the international community to understand the military operation he launched this week against the Tigray party, which he has accused of trying to create instability in the nation.
Abiy said the former ruling Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) had funded, trained and organized any army that was willing to engage in violent and illegal activities to end the democratic transition he had followed.
