After former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko turned to a woman who sought police protection from the former governor's threats, Merry has finally revealed exactly what happened between the two.
Merry Nkatha went to Karen police station to seek protection saying she feared for her life. He said he fears Sonko or his agents could harm him by refusing to cooperate with him.
He claimed that Sonko had been seeking to be his witness in two cases against Governor Anne Kananu and Judge Saidi Chitembwe among other cases.
Speaking to Radiojambo, Nkatha claimed that he had never given Sonko confidential information.
"The first thing I can say is that I have never been Mike Sonko's 'informer', he wanted me to be a witness in his cases but I refused, that's when he gave me 250 million but I refused
After his refusal he decided to distribute false videos, the fact is that his videos have been edited and not true, he has involved many people
If I am his friend why he is trying to tarnish my reputation, it means there is something I have refused to do to get him to do that, "Nkatha said.
Merry also claimed that Sonko had been threatening him, and that he had even been held at gunpoint by 3 men and reported the matter to police.
"This is not the first time I have been arrested, and I have reported it to the police.
I fear for my life that's why I left home and stayed where I am right now, I have kids who are in school I don't know their safety or what they think
"I am not the first person to be abducted and Sonko is a very large number of people, including ward representatives," said Nkatha.
