The Secretary-General of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU), Francis Atwoli, has vowed to curse Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala for threatening to interrupt Raila Odinga's Azimio La Umoja convention on December 31 at Bukhungu Stadium.

Malala, who spoke at an event in her county on Sunday, said he would only let the demonstration to take place if he obtains permission from Musalia Mudavadi, the head of the Amani National Congress (ANC), whom he described as a true Luhya community kingpin.

However, when touring Bukhungu Stadium on Monday, Atwoli challenged the Senator to prevent the political gathering from taking place.

Atwoli criticized Malala for striking above her weight by starting a rivalry with Raila Odinga, claiming that it was he who appointed him to the Senate in the first place

"Tell this young guy, whom I have appointed Senator, to calm down.

"I saw him the other day claiming that I don't give people employment, despite the fact that I gave him the position as Senator."

"...and if someone gives you anything, he has the right to take it back."

"Go tell him he's a young guy who has to calm down because when I curse him, he'll be a nothing," Atwoli said.

Atwoli stated that the Kakamega Senator was hired to wreak havoc at the event.

However, he said that during the event, he will guarantee that security is increased not just around the stadium, but also across the county.

"I've gone out of my way to make sure that the security in Kakamega on December 31 is the best that any man or woman has ever seen," the septuagenarian said.
