If presidential elections were held today, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would easily defeat Deputy President William Ruto, according to an opinion poll conducted by Infotrak.

Raila's popularity was 33 percent in the Infotrak Voice of the People poll, which was held between September 17 and December 21, while Ruto's was 32 percent.

The pollster used CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews) to conduct the interviews (CATI).

The entire sample size for the study was set at 1,600 people aged 18 and up at the time of the interviews.

The margin of error was 2.45 percent plus or minus.

The poll found that Ruto's popularity has been steadily declining over the previous year, while Raila's has soared, notably after the last Azimio La Umoja Convention on December 10, 2021, when the ODM leader proclaimed his candidacy.

Ruto's popularity was 44 percent in December of last year, 34 percent in November 2021, and 32 percent in December 2021, according to the poll.

Raila's popularity, on the other hand, was at 13% in December 2020, but increased to 25% in November 2021, and then to 33% during the Azimio event at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.

Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) both had one percent of the vote.

However, a significant number of Kenyans are still undecided, with 21% unable to make up their minds.
