Moses Wetangula, the leader of the Ford Kenya Party, has stated that he will attend former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's Azimio La Umoja conference on December 31 in Kakamega County's Bukhungu Stadium.
Raila's presidential ambition for 2022 will be endorsed during a huge event planned by the Secretary-General of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU), Francis Atwoli.
Wetangula, who is among Western Kenya's senior leaders, said he will attend the conference and, if given the opportunity to speak, will chastise Atwoli and his ilk for attempting to marginalize Luhya community leaders.
He further stated that if given the opportunity, he will address the crowd and lead the crowd out of the stadium, leaving it empty, in order to remind Atwoli and the planners that they have no authority over the Western area.
"I would speak and then walk out with the crowds to show who controls the people of Western," Wetangula said.
Musalia Mudavadi, the head of the Amani National Congress (ANC), has yet to clarify whether he will attend the meeting.
