Today is the second day of Uganda's presidential nomination exercise, in which Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, is expected to be nominated.

According to BBC correspondent Issaac Mumena, Bobi Wine is expected to be appointed this morning. Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Kampala has issued a security alert to its citizens in Kampala.

The embassy has advised its citizens to refrain from reaching areas of Kampala and around Kyambogo because of possible violence on Tuesday in connection with the presidential election.

Before leaving his home, Bobi Wine said he would speak to the media and agreed to go with 10 people as required by the Uganda Electoral Commission.

However, it is alleged that the police force has surrounded the offices of Bobi Wine's National Unity Platform, NUP. The security situation in Kampala and its suburbs has also improved.

Yesterday President Yoweri Museveni was among the nominees and had another opportunity to defend his seat for another term.
